The University of North Florida Upsilon Phi Delta chapter is affiliated with the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA). This club's intent is to enrich our students experience while providing opportunities to build professional relationships and networking skills. Our UNF chapter extends this offer to qualified graduate and undergraduate students. The University of No

rth Florida chapter is a charter member and the Alpha Chapter of Upsilon Phi Delta. The national goals of Upsilon Phi Delta are:

1. To encourage interest in academic preparation for careers in health administration.
2. To promote activity that will elevate the standards, ideals, competence and ethics of men and women preparing for careers in health administration and leadership.
3. To provide financial assistance through scholarships.
4. To recognize, by means of granting honorary memberships, individuals who have made outstanding contribution to the profession.

We are having our first event next Friday and we hope you all can attend. It is our Fall Semester Kick-Off that will be at Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails from 5:30 - 8:00 pm. We encourage you all to come out and enjoy a fun night with your peers!

Meet our treasurer, Scott Wilkes
•
Born and raised in Leesburg, FL. Scott knew from an early age that he wanted to make an impact in healthcare. Upon graduating from the University of Central Florida in 2015 with his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, he began working as a case manager with the Department of Elder Affairs in Gainesville, FL and later with the Department of Children and Families in the 5th Circuit Court of Florida. Scott currently works as a Financial Counselor at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. His favorite part of the job is the patient interaction. When asked why, Scott replied “talking about patient finances is never easy, if I can relieve a modicum of the stress the patient is already facing, I know I am doing my job.” Scott also added that he intends to make most, if not all patients leave their appointment with a smile on their face. Scott is heavily involved at the University of North Florida, serving as HASA Vice President and UPD Treasurer, Scott is also a Graduate Assistant for Dr. Laree Moody. Scott will graduate with his Masters of Health Administration in Spring of 2020.
