Good Evening, Venetia Families!

Thank you again for a wonderful school year. We hope your summer is off to a great start!

We are officially packed and ready for our move. Venetia will transition into our temporary relocation space during the week of June 22.

Be on the lookout for information about our Campus Beautification Day and school tour dates in July. These opportunities will allow students and families to visit and become familiar with our new space before we open our doors in August.

We are looking forward to an amazing 2026–2027 school year as we embrace this temporary transition while our brand-new Venetia campus is being built. Exciting things are ahead, and we can’t wait to continue learning and growing together.

Do you have an incoming kindergartner or know a family interested in joining Venetia? We are open all summer and currently accepting registrations for the upcoming school year.

Today we celebrate an incredible milestone and an extraordinary educator, Linda Hegdal, as she retires after 40 years of dedicated service to students and the teaching profession.

For four decades, Linda has exemplified what it means to be an outstanding teacher. Her classroom has always been a place of high engagement, strong relationships, exceptional classroom management, and bell-to-bell, high-quality instruction. She has a remarkable gift for making learning meaningful and inspiring students to develop a genuine love for learning.

Year after year, Linda’s students have demonstrated tremendous academic growth, a testament to her unwavering commitment, expertise, and belief in every child’s potential. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom walls, touching the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues throughout her career.

Thank you, Linda, for 40 years of excellence, dedication, and service. Your passion for teaching and your legacy of student success will continue to inspire generations to come.

Happy Last Week of School! I want to take this time to thank you for all of your support this school year and helping Venetia to shine! 🌟

We have a short week this week with just three days left of school. Please have students return all library books, their red folder and any items belonging to the school.

Tuesday, May 26th: 5th Grade Promotional Ceremony, 9:30 am. Please be sure to have a physical ID (license, passport, or military ID). Required for entry to the school.

Thursday, May 28: Last Day of School, dismissal begins at 12:15 pm. No PM Extended Day.

There is an accident on Roosevelt (near Circle K) all lanes are closed both ways. Please plan ahead for pick up. You may need go around to Collins and back up Timuquana to get to the school.

Students who have previously purchased a yearbook will receive their yearbook on Wednesday and attend the Yearbook Signing Party. We will have additional Yearbooks on sale at all award ceremonies. If you would like to purchase, please bring $30 cash.

Please check with your child’s teacher regarding items that may be needed for donation and whether volunteers are needed to help with the class party.

📚Reading Celebration – Friday, May 22
Students who have met their book goal for the year will participate in our Reading Celebration! This event will include outdoor activities, and it is expected to be hot. Students may wear hats, outdoor attire, and sunscreen.

No School – Monday, May 25
There will be no school in observance of Memorial Day.

🎓 5th Grade Promotional Ceremony-Tuesday, May 26 @ 9:30 AM

Last Day of School – Thursday, May 28
Students will be dismissed at 12:30 PM.

Please note:
* There will be **no afterschool Extended Day** on Thursday, May 28.
* Please ensure your child’s teacher knows how your child will be getting home that day.

We are on the final stretch with testing. 3rd-5th Grade takes their Math PM 3 and 5th Grade takes their Science State Test. We are expecting to ! 💪

Friday is Multicultural Day! Each class is studying a country. Students are asked to dressed in traditional attire for the country their class is studying.
