The James Weldon Johnson Poetry and Dramatic Arts Literacy Contest is now accepting entries!

Students may register online at https://friendsofbrentwoodlibrary.org/jwj-2022/

or students may complete a paper registration. Paper registration packet will be provided to schools as needed. Students (grades 3-12) will need to complete the registration which includes submitting an original poem. All participation requirements are listed in detail on the registration packet.

When: June 15-19 JPL Main Branch Conference Center/JWJ Park

Prizes: Winners will be selected from three age categories (grades rising 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) with scholarship prizes ranging from $50 to $2000.

Thank you Hope at Hand, Inc. for facilitating our 2nd Annual Poetry Festival 🌻 Our Stinger Bees each participated in two poetry and art activities with the amazing H@H instructors! Students also offered their thoughts and memories of their classmate, Vanity, who tragically passed away in March.

Be sure to wear comfortable clothing and appropriate footwear to participate in Play Day activities! Please do not wear sandals or Crocs. Stinger Bees are encouraged to bring extra water.

Come celebrate your Stinger Bee at our End-of-Year Awards Ceremonies! Yearbooks will be available for purchase ($20) before and after ceremonies.

Representatives from the Jacksonville Sharks stopped by The Garden last week to share some words of encouragement (and some cool swag) for our 3rd Grade students preparing to take the Math FSA! Thank you Ms. Bias for arranging this exciting opportunity for our Stinger Bees ❤️🐝🌻
