CCEC faculty and students are shaping the future of metal 3D printing and advanced manufacturing.
Through a new NSF-funded research project, Dr. Longfei Zhou and student researchers are working to improve metal 3D printing by detecting and correcting flaws as they happen.
Their work connects engineering, automation, data and digital twins to real-world manufacturing challenges in industries like aerospace, medical devices and energy.
The project will also support new course modules and lab activities, giving students hands-on experience with the technologies reshaping modern manufacturing.

🏁 Osprey Racing is back from Formula SAE Collegiate Nationals at Michigan International Speedway after an impressive showing this season.
The team successfully passed technical inspection, participated in every practice session and earned first place among Florida teams in Cost. With many new members on the team, their growth throughout the competition really showed.
While an unexpected mechanical issue kept them from finishing the endurance event, the team handled each challenge with resilience and adaptability. They’re already taking what they learned and using it to come back stronger for the next competition.
