Ever wondered what it takes to beat a Porsche in a 60m dash on foot? As a D1 Tracklete, I'm revealing my top tips for maxing out your explosiveness and quickness. This isn't just theory, it's how you actually get race-ready!
Acceleration Work: This is crucial for the 60m as the start and first 30-40 meters are all about acceleration.
Block Starts: Practice perfect block mechanics, focusing on powerful leg drive and a low, aggressive exit. Aim for 10-30m bursts.Sled Pulls: Use a sled with light to moderate weight (10-20% of bodyweight) for 10-30m. This builds starting strength and acceleration power.Hill Sprints: Short, steep hills (10-30m) are excellent for building powerful leg drive and acceleration in a resisted environment.Bounding Drills: Focus on maximizing horizontal displacement with each stride, like single-leg bounds or triple broad jumps.
