Alimacani Elementary

Earth Day fun at Alimacani today! Ms. Clance’s 1st grade class completed a scavenger hunt while picking up litter on the playground. Mrs. Smith’s Kindergarten CSS students used blue and green paint with marbles to paint the Earth and planted grass seeds as they begin learning about how to care for our Earth.

Such a fun day full of learning, growing, and loving the world! 🌎

Our kindergarten and 1st grade students were so excited to have guests from Fletcher High School come and lead lessons as a part of Junior Achievement’s Hero Day! The high schoolers participated in training on how to lead our students in lessons on financial literacy. Students learned about needs and wants, saving and budgeting, and explored some possible careers!

Month of the Military Child is always a special time at Alimacani as we highlight our growing number of military connected kids! Our flag raising turned pep rally led by our Anchored 4 Life student team leaders shared with our community how incredible these special students are. Thank you to our partners at Naval Station Mayport for joining us to celebrate these amazing kids! 💜

What do you do when you finish the curriculum? Well, our teachers find fun ways to enrich student’s understanding! These 1st graders in Ms. Oliver’s class are reviewing math benchmarks including measuring distance and length with student created catapults and a roundup of all the Math benchmarks with a scavenger hunt!

April is Month of the Military Child and we are excited to celebrate all our military connected students with a spirit week April 13-17! Our military students have a “Purple Up!” pep rally planned for flag raising and ask everyone to wear purple on Friday 💜🇺🇸

Students in Ms. Perkins 3rd grade math class recently completed a few math enrichment activities while learning about geometry. While studying 3-D shapes, students designed, drew, cut out, and formed figures including dodecahedrons. Students also looked at line designs and angles used to build bridges during this geometry unit creating line designs of their own.

Our Girls on the Run students completed a campus beautification service project and spent an afternoon giving our courtyard, bike rack, and campus garden a spring cleaning. Thank you Girls on the Run students and coaches for helping keep our campus looking great!
