✨️Stellar Spotlight for our Social Studies department ✨️🎬

The spotlight is on our 8th Grade Teacher,
Ms.Jackson and Student Coucil Executive Board as they conducted an interactive Election Day today for Student Council this year!

Our students at each grade level practiced their civic engagement and leadership skills by casting their votes today with their voter registration cards
(school ID) at the voting polls.

Way to go Student Council for making Election Day fun and reminding our students the importance of using their voice!

What an incredible night! 🎥🍿 Our 7th & 8th Grade Open House was a SUCCESS! ⭐

From the moment the stage was set...our families stepped onto the red carpet and became part of the story! ❤️

We are so grateful to all of our amazing parents and families who came out, connected with us and met their scholar's teachers as we continue to kick off an exciting new school year!

🏊‍♂️Our Swim Team is headed to the City Championship!

Congratulations to the 19 swimmers and 4 alternate swimmers who have earned a spot to represent SMS at the DCPS Middle School City Championship Swim Meet this Saturday, May 9, 2026!

All qualifying swimmers earned their place by competing at their team’s divisional swim meet.

We are proud of their hard work and dedication throughout the season.

Come out and cheer on the Springfield Swim team at the Cecil Field Aquatic Center at 9:00 AM.
