Let's normalize tradeschools!

From a mom named Michele...

I searched for a long time. It didn’t exist. So I built it myself.

My name is Michele. I am a Texas homeschool mom, and when my son Garrett was 7 years old I already knew two things about him. He loved dogs more than anything in the world. The family called him the dog whisperer. And the traditional school system was never going to be the right fit for him.

Not because he wasn’t smart. Because he was already more than what a classroom could hold.

I started looking for something that could teach him real grooming skills alongside business math. Marketing alongside money management. Something that would give him every tool he needed to run his own grooming business by the time he graduated homeschool.
It didn’t exist.

So I built it for him. Trail by trail. Skill by skill. Just for Garrett.

And somewhere in the middle of building it, something hit me. Garrett isn’t alone. There are thousands of kids out there who already know who they are. Kids who would rather wire a light switch than sit through another worksheet. Kids who want to grow things, build things, film things, code things, fix things. Kids with a thing, that one passion that lights them up, and no real path to get there.

Their moms are out there searching too. And coming up empty. Just like I did.

That is when I started building Trade School Trails. Not just for Garrett. For all of them.
7 learning paths. 30 trails. Real certified instructors. Real portfolios. Official transcripts. 100% online and available to homeschool families anywhere in the United States. Built for the kid who already knows who they are and the parent brave enough to build a path that matches.

1. Structured Learning: Because "Winging It" Wasn't a Sustainable Strategy

2. Access to Specialized Instruction: Kids can learn anything from CSI Forensics to rocket launching, all in one day.

3. Shared Resources and Cost Savings: Pooling Resources So You Don't Have to Sell a Kidney

4. Building Community: Admit it, ya gotta be different to homeschool. So why not join up with others just as quirky as you? You might find the best friends you didn't know you needed.

5. Exposure to Diverse Teaching Styles: Your interpretive dance approach to teaching math might not resonate with your kid, but there may be one out there who digs it.

6. Looking Presentable: Because you gotta get dressed at least once a week.

7. Anti-Isolation: Make friends with others who are equally weird and unsocialized. In fact, life-long friends for homeschool kids? Who knew?

8. Socialization: Develop relationships with all ages because the real world doesn't segregate by grade level.

9. Develop a Following: Sharing your passion for a subject just might lead to kids choosing that field for a deep dive study or maybe even a career. You never know what you spark.

10. Public Speaking One to One: It's hard to practice public speaking when your public consists of Mom and younger siblings in diapers.
