HAPPY RETIREMENT, CAPTAIN WARREN! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

05/29/2025

Congratulations to the 81st! Together We RISE!!!

For the 3rd time in the past 4 years, our cadets have earned the "Silver Star" Community Service with Excellence Award for 2024-25. This prestigious award recognizes the top 5% of all AF/SF JROTC units based on community service in support of school and local communities, and our program was 1 of only 42 units selected out of 828 units worldwide for this award. During 2024-25, our cadets had 5700+ community service hours, averaging over 48 hours per cadet. Over the past 7 years, our cadets have volunteered nearly 23,000 hours in support of JNPSD and the local community.
According to Colonel Matthew Tipton, Director, HQ AF/SF JROTC, "the importance of service and understanding how it positively impacts our cadets, schools, communities, and our nation is fundamental to our AFJROTC mission of 'developing citizens of character' for America. This year, the cadets of AF/SF JROTC conducted more than 1,610,370 community service hours!"
JHS AFJROTC cadets also earned their 3rd consecutive Distinguished Unit Award (DUA) with Merit Award during 2024-2025, and 7th consecutive DUA overall. DUA with Merit Awards can only be earned in a year following a HQ Unit Compliance Inspection when the unit scores "exceeds standards." MSgt Willingham and I are blessed and thankful for our cadet family and so proud of their hard work. The cadets continue to selflessly lead by example and have proven that they truly are "TITANS."

AFJROTC reads to Bayou Meto Elementary School students. Cadets were great examples of how fun reading can be. They were animated and engaging with the students.
