Dancelook Apprentice Program - DAP

Apprentices Paola and Lorelei had the opportunity to perform works by Carlos and Marisa Garland for at performance of “The Story of Dance”! So proud of our dancers!

DAP does not play when it comes to a full weekend of training, performance, and inspiration 🎭✨

We kicked things off with the Moulin Rouge Broadway tour—completely blown away by the talent, the spectacle, and always inspired by iconic choreography brought to life by such incredible performers.

Our apprentices and trainees then stepped up, sharing their monologues and songs for the DAP Directors, followed by an incredible modern class with .o that pushed them to dig deeper and move with intention.

We didn’t stop there! Straight into rehearsals and onto set with for two commercial dance shoots—bringing the energy, the focus, and the fun every step of the way.

We love getting to perform, collaborate, and grow alongside new artists and helping bring Dancelook’s vision to life. The opportunities the Apprentices and Trainees receive through DAP are unlike any other! They gain so much experience and learn so much in this program, making them prepared to step into a professional career one day.

Our dancers had the incredible opportunity to train with some amazing artists at our latest DAP Masterclass Day. ✨

They took ballet with Roberto Forleo , Artistic Director of Florida Ballet, where they were challenged in strength, control, and discipline; modern with Susan Dodge , exploring modern history, training their bodies with intention, and learning to let go with confidence; jazz technique with Marisa Garland .dolan , focused on sharpening fundamentals and building speed; jazz choreography with Carlos Garland & Marisa Garland , centered on precision and performance quality; hip hop with Rochelle Underdue , all about musicality and having fun; and acting and singing with Jereme Raickett , where they worked on character development and digging deep — with several dancers bravely performing their monologues and songs.

A full day of learning, growth, versatility, and joy. So proud of these artists for showing up ready to work. 💫

Another DAP project officially in the books—and this one raised the bar to new heights😮✨

This DAP project weekend was an immersive deep dive into growth, versatility, and storytelling. Dancers strengthened their acting and performance skills through research of classic films and vintage performances, stepping into the world and character of the 1940s. They pushed their multitasking skills to the next level by learning how to lip sync while dancing, tackled brand-new styles like precision jazz and ballroom swing (yes—all in heels), and learned original choreography from Carlos and Marisa for an upcoming Dancelook video. It was a fast-paced, challenging, and incredibly rewarding weekend that demanded focus, adaptability, and confidence.

And as if that wasn’t enough, the dancers wrapped the weekend by stepping straight onto set for Dancelook’s video shoot on Sunday—filming inside a real plane hangar 🤯✈️ Truly an unforgettable experience. Head to Dancelook to catch some behind-the-scenes magic 🎬

Check out our Apprentices, and DAP Alumni, performing in Dancelook’s newest production, Cry Me a River. We had the best time on set: laughing, learning, bonding, and experiencing the truly once-in-a-lifetime thrill of dancing in a full rain set. What an unforgettable day with the Dancelook team!💙

Fun fact - Kyra was in DAP Phases 1 & 2 and actually got to dance on a rain set before in Dancelook’s production “Storm”! She is an incredible dancer and is now working consistently with Dancelook-how awesome is that?!

These animals..we mean dancers..had another incredible DAP weekend!🐾

Apprentices and Trainees worked with Carlos and Marisa on choreography, character intention, and audition techniques, testing their focus, artistry, and stamina through a full week of classes, creation, and camera work. Apprentices also had the exciting opportunity to audition for roles in Dancelook’s upcoming short film!

They had a special acting and singing class with Mr. Jereme, working more on their song for this season, “Good Morning Baltimore”, and it’s sounding better and better!🎤 They also got the opportunity to work with Ms. Susan Dodge, exploring the roots and raw energy of modern dance as they prepared for Sunday’s filming.

🎬Filming day was WILD! We started with filming Dancelook’s short film and ended with filming an animal concept video! The Apprentices really transformed into their animal and helped bring both videos to life🐒🐍🐆🦜 along with entertaining us all day🤣🍌

DAP Masterclass Day was nothing short of incredible! 🎭✨

Our dancers spent the day sharpening their skills, learning from some of the best in the business. In acting and singing with , they worked on a full song, diving into pitch, projection, and performance technique. Ballet with was, as always, full of energy and precision, pushing dancers to new heights. offered a wealth of knowledge and true modern artistry in Modern technique class, while jazz, with NYC’s own , brought the magic of Broadway Fosse-style straight to our dancers while working on their industry professionalism. Hip hop with was full of groove, style, and performance flair that had everyone movin and groovin 🔥💃🕺

It was a full day of technique, artistry, and inspiration; a perfect mix of focus, creativity, and passion. Even our Apprentices in different time zones got to join via Zoom and experience the fun and growth alongside us! We are so proud of our dancers for their dedication and energy, and we can’t wait to work with them again next month! Don’t stop training!🌟💪

DAP Phase 8 has officially begun! 🚀

We launched our eighth season this weekend, and it started with a bang! ✨ Apprentices and Trainees from across the U.S. came together for an action-packed first weekend of training and performance.

This program isn’t for everyone. It’s for dancers ready to be pushed beyond their limits, sharpen their artistry, and gain specialized experiences you can’t find anywhere else..and that’s exactly what we accomplished this weekend.

The opening weekend is always a shock to the system with so much NEW and challenging work. Dancers jumped into:

💃 Choreography + industry training with DAP Directors and .dolan
🎬 A full audition process
📸 A professional photoshoot

On top of that, seven Apprentices were chosen to perform in an intense (and insanely cool) production on Sunday, while the rest gained hands-on experience learning valuable on-set skills to help make the shoot a success. (Check out for some epic BTS footage 👀🔥).

This is just the beginning and we can’t wait to share more glimpses into the world of a Dancelook Apprentice!
