First Coast High School Chorus

Good morning, parents!

We will NOT be continuing with our car wash today. The temperature will be sub-70° until the last hour we are washing cars.

It is not fair to make kids get wet and feel wind chill with temperatures like this.

We had so much fun singing around the school today! A huge thank you to the teachers who let us sing for their classes 🎄

On Thursday, December 12th, 2024, the FCHS Chorus shared tidings of comfort and great joy to a full audience of friends, family, and fellow students.
The Buccaneer Brigade men's choir opened up the concert with a high energy rendition of Felíz Navidad, followed by the delicate melodies of the Singing Sirens women's choir in their performance of Winter Wonderland and Mary Did You Know?
The followed up with the hauntingly harmonious Winter Wind and a rousing rendition of Children Go Where I Send Thee, with solos from Markus Blakely, Cimera Brown, and Destiny Benton.
FCHS' very own Flagship Chorale concluded the first half of the concert with the captivating crescendos of Do You Hear What I Hear.
The combined chorus (pictured above) walked down the aisles and up to the stage as singers serenaded concert-goers with carols from the Candlelight Processional, bringing the concert to an exciting finale with the rest of the Disney Candlelight suite.

Tom Marshall Park hosts baseball/softball games every Saturday and some week nights through the month of April. Just use this link to sign up!! We went recruiting today!! We visited Oceanway Middle and Highlands Middle schools to "literally" sing the praises of high school chorus, and the high school experience coming from kids just like them. Our leadership kids speeches were on point, and we really made a great impression for our incoming 9th graders next year. Way to go guys!!

So proud of our students who participated in FVA State Solo & Ensemble today alongside the best high school singers in the state of Florida.
Ty'Asia, Zachary, and Nomarie recieved SUPERIOR ratings and Richard was awarded SUPERIOR WITH DISTINCTION, allowing him the esteemed opportunity to sing on the Honors Recital!
We offer a huge thanks to Dr. Julian David Bryson for collaborating on piano with our students and thanks to Jacksonville University Music for allowing us to utilize their beautiful facilities to make music.
