🔎✨ GIFTED SPOTLIGHT | 4TH GRADE ✨🔎

It’s investigation time in Mrs. Simpson’s Gifted Class! 🕵️‍♀️☎️

It was the first day back in Gifted for the 2026–27 school year, and our 4th graders were already busy stretching their minds, asking questions, and investigating! 🧠💡

Students got hands-on with some unplugged phones ☎️ and quickly discovered just how different they are from the cell phones we use today! One item even sparked a mystery—after looking at its original paperwork, students began wondering if it might actually be a navigation device instead of a phone! 👀🗺️

And the best part? Mrs. Simpson found these awesome pieces on Facebook Marketplace over the summer—turning a summer find into a classroom investigation! ❤️

🕵️ This week’s investigation challenge:
☎️ What’s the difference between a landline and a cellphone?
☎️ Why is it called a landline phone?

We can’t wait to see what our young investigators discover next! 🚀🔎

🏐🏈🚀 **WHAT A START TO OUR ROCKET SPORTS SEASON!** 🚀🏈🏐

This week officially kicked off our **Volleyball and Flag Football seasons**, and we could not be more proud of our Rockets! ❤️🤍💙

The scoreboard may not have gone our way in our first games, but that definitely doesn’t tell the whole story. Our athletes **fought hard, played with heart, supported their teammates, and showed everyone what they’ve got!** 💪🚀

First games are about learning, growing, and finding your rhythm—and our Rockets gave us so much to be excited about for the season ahead. We saw determination, teamwork, hustle, and most importantly, **Rocket pride!**

A HUGE thank you to our amazing coaches for the time, patience, and dedication you pour into our student-athletes. We appreciate everything you do both on and off the court and field. ❤️

We are just getting started, Rockets! Keep working, keep growing, and keep showing up for each other. We are looking forward to an AMAZING season! 🏐🏈

📚➖ Reading, Math & Growing Our Skills! 🚀

Ms. Swinamer’s 2nd Graders were hard at work putting their skills to the test! 💪✨

📖 During reading, students worked through task cards, practicing their reading skills and showing what they know.

➖ Then it was time for math! Our Rockets tackled subtraction problems, using their strategies and working hard to find the correct answers. 🧠✏️

We love seeing our 2nd Graders stay focused, challenge themselves, and build confidence along the way! ❤️🚀

🌻📚 Nonfiction Learning: All About Sunflowers! 📚🌻

Ms. Aguirre’s 1st Grade class has been busy growing their reading, writing, and teamwork skills! 💛

Every Thursday, students dive into a new nonfiction text, and this week was ALL about sunflowers! 🌻

After reading, students worked in groups to create posters showing what they learned. Each group had a special focus—what sunflowers can do, what sunflowers have, and interesting facts about what sunflowers are. 🔎📖

They labeled the different parts of a sunflower, shared facts from the text, and even put their 1st Grade writing skills to work by using their very best spelling! ✏️🌻

But they weren’t finished yet! Each group presented their poster to the class and shared what they learned. We loved seeing our little Rockets confidently speak in front of their classmates and take pride in their work! 🥰👏

So much reading, writing, teamwork, and learning packed into one activity! Way to go, 1st Grade Rockets! 🚀❤️

🏆🔤 Letter Recognition + A Little Friendly Competition! 🔤🏆

Mrs. Boggess’s Kindergarten class turned letter practice into a fun team challenge today! 💛🚀

Students opened up MYSTERY BOXES 🎁 to discover letters hiding inside! To earn points for their team, each student had to identify the letter name AND its sound. 🔤👏

The excitement was real as our little Rockets cheered on their teammates while putting their letter skills to the test! 🏆✨

Who knew learning letters could be this much fun?! ❤️🚀

🔍🧪 Little Scientists at Work! 🧪🔍

Mrs. Goodwine’s Kindergarten class put on their scientist hats and got busy exploring! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

Our little Rockets learned that scientists explore, ask questions, test, and experiment. They also discovered how science tools can help us take a closer look, make observations, and learn more about the world around us! 🔎✨

We love seeing curiosity come to life in the classroom. Keep exploring, Kindergarten Rockets! 🚀❤️
