Colossal Academy Jacksonville is heading into Year 3, and we’re thoughtfully growing our team as we continue building a small, relationship-based micro high school focused on real-world learning, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and hands-on education.

We’re currently looking to add:
• Student Success Guide
• Core Subject Tutors
• PBL Facilitator
• CTE Teacher

We’re especially looking for people who are:
• calm under pressure
• relationship-driven
• proactive and flexible
• great with older teens
• energized by building something different

Coaches, mentors, educators, entrepreneurs, tradespeople, youth leaders, and community-minded humans encouraged to apply or refer someone.

This is not about becoming bigger for the sake of growth. It’s about building the right team and support systems around the students and families already here — while continuing to expand opportunities for Year 3 and beyond.

Four years ago, we started asking: What if high school looked more like this?

What if instead of asking: “Why won’t these boys sit still?”we asked: “What are they built for?”

Some of these kids love football.Some love hunting, gaming, or working with their hands.Some want college.Some want entrepreneurship - But all of them fished.

And we realized something: Fishing was never just fishing.

🎣 Discipline🎣 Confidence🎣 Leadership🎣 Responsibility🎣 Teamwork🎣 Nervous system regulation🎣 Problem solving🎣 Community🎣 Belonging

These boys willingly wake up before sunrise.They push through heat, rough water, failure, exhaustion, and disappointment — because something in them comes alive out there.

So instead of trying to force every student into the same mold, we started building education around their strengths.

Yesterday was the final on-the-water day of Year One of our Wednesday Fishing & Charter Captain Apprenticeship — possibly one of the only programs of its kind in the country.

Now at the end of Year 2 of Colossal Academy Jax, we’re watching the vision become real:

☕️ Students running businesses🎣 Students running a youth fishing tournament📚 Paid teaching internships🌊 Careers in conservation and marine science🏈 Time for athletics, jobs, leadership, and real life

Not just preparing for tests.Preparing for life.
