On a beautiful early summer day in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, Don is back out on the course providing a simple tip to shallow out your golf swing to play better golf. Many golfers swing the club down too steep with their right elbow coming down above their left. This incorrect motion creates a steep swing plane with the club swinging left of the target line (commonly called outside-in) through the impact creating poor shots. When you work the "Right Elbow Below the Left to Shallow it Out," as the body pivots back to the lead side, you will be delivering the proper inside, shallower blow to the golf ball for both straighter and longer golf shots!

On a beautiful early summer day in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, this week we find Don back out on the course describing the importance of having width in your backswing. Too many golfers pull their arms and hands around and into the body in the backswing resulting in their hands being very close to their head at the top. This position at the top traps both the arms and hands on the downswing resulting in a stuck position through the impact area. Keep the hands far from the head and "Create Width Within Your Golf Swing" and you will find your arms and hands having an unimpeded and comfortable path back to the ball for straighter and longer golf shots. Play Well!

From the beautiful island of Saint Martin, this week Don focuses on the proper finish of the golf swing. Too many golfers see the line to the target and try to swing the clubhead up and into the finish position on that target line. The proper swinging motion is to swing the club on a clock approaching the club from the 2:00 o'clock position to the square 12:00 o'clock square position and exiting left to the 10:00 o'clock position. Simply put, the club swings on a clock and not up & down the target line. When a golfer swings the club up in an attempt to swing it down the target line, the face will tend to be open for poor shots finishing right of the target. "Finish it Around and not Up" and you will swing the club on the proper circle/plane through the bottom of the swing to promote the club releasing properly for straighter and purer shots. Play Well!

This week, we find Don home in Jacksonville Beach, Florida describing how to simplify your golf swing to play golf more like a PGA & LPGA Tour Player. Too many golfers have extra moving parts in their swings by changing their spine angles and moving off and onto the ball in a swaying motion. Bottom line, their swings are "More Complicated than a Tour Player" as they have to try to recover from these incorrect positions to hit the ball solid. When you turn more in position and maintain a consistent spine angle through the swing until impact, your swing will become more simplified and easier to repeat for consistent solid ball striking much like a Tour Player. Play Well!

This week, we meet up with Don at TPC (Tucker's Point Club) on the beautiful island country of Bermuda. Too many golfers solely focus on their feet and shoulders being aligned properly to the target; however, they neglect aligning one of the most important areas of the body (THE FOREARMS). When golfers dominate with their trail forearm due to the fact that it is the strongest side of their body, they tend take the club up into a steep position and swing the club across the target line at the bottom resulting in poor shots. When you "Square up the Forearms" at address, you will find yourself swinging the club on plane and on the line longer for straighter shots. Play Well!

This week, we find Don back out on the course on the island country of St. Martin describing the right elbow and right hip positioning through the impact area. Too many golfers jam their right elbow into the right hip and find themselves in a stuck position at the bottom of the swing with the swing thought of keeping the right elbow close to the right hip on the downswing. The result of being in this stuck position is typically a flip of the hands through the impact area in an attempt to square up the club. When you make a good turn to the top while keeping the elbows and arms in front of the chest, you now can work the right elbow down in front of the right hip as your hips rotate open. When you work the club down in this manner, your arms will have an unimpeded inside path back to the ball and the right elbow will be both in front and close to the right hip at impact. "The Right Elbow is Close to the Right Hip" at the bottom of the swing because the hips are rotating open! PLAY WELL!!!

This week, from the base of the largest volcano/mountain in the world to the sea floor and at the beautiful Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island, Don describes a common swing fault of many golfers. In an attempt to make a "full swing", many golfers stretch their arms upwards to complete their backswing. This improper action typically takes a club into a steeper position at the top resulting in poor shots. When you keep your right elbow no higher than your right peck at the top, and at the same time, fold your right elbow and hinge/cock the hands, you will make a full swing and have the club on plane for improved ball striking. ALOHA!

This week, from the beautiful island country of St. Martin, Don describes the proper extension and release through the bottom of the golf swing. Too many golfers shorten and buckle their arms and flip their hands through the impact area causing poor shots. Through the simple swing thought of "Feel the Right Arm Extend" at the bottom of the swing, you will find yourself squaring up the face and releasing the club properly for improved ball striking!

From the Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, this week we find Don describing the proper position at the top to make great golf swings. Too many golfers point the club to right field at the top (better known as crossing the line) which causes a steep downswing and poor shots. While others, point the club to left field (better known as laid off) and come in too shallow with an open face at impact. When you "Point the Thumbs at the Target" at the top of the backswing, you will have the club on plane and square for both straighter and longer golf shots. Aloha!
