This week, our students and their families participated in a Passover Seder, taking time to remember God’s faithfulness and His deliverance.

Through each element of the Seder, students were able to see Scripture come to life and better understand the significance of this important biblical tradition.

At LUX, we prioritize our students’ walk with Jesus. Through a classical Christian education, we seek to cultivate both knowledge and faith, guiding students to grow in truth and in their relationship with Him.

March is Missions Month at Lux! 🌍✨
Throughout the month of March, we are learning about missionaries from the past and hearing from modern-day missionaries who are sharing the Gospel around the world. Today, we had the privilege of hearing from our very own Corissa Frederick and her husband Aaron as they shared about their upcoming mission work in Papua New Guinea in 2027.
They will be serving unreached people groups who do not yet have the Bible in their own language. What an incredible opportunity to bring the hope of the Gospel to communities that have never had access to God’s Word.

There’s nothing better than Science Wednesdays at Lux! 🧪✨
Here’s a small glimpse inside our 3rd grade classroom as they explore the amazing world of plant and animal cells with our incredible science teacher, Mrs. Butler! 🌱🔬
From identifying the nucleus to learning how mitochondria power the cell, our students are diving deep into hands-on discovery and building a strong foundation in science one cell at a time! 🧬💡

This Thursday, February 5th, we’re celebrating Super Bowl weekend with a Sports Spirit Day!
Students may represent their favorite sports team — football, basketball, soccer, baseball, gymnastics, and more!
🔹 This is NOT a full dress-down day
🔹 No shoulder pads, helmets, or sports equipment
🔹 School-appropriate attire only

Ancient Egypt came alive in 2nd grade today as students explored mummies through hands-on learning and creativity. Students created mummy artwork using powdered vegetable paint, inspired by how ancient Egyptians used natural dyes from fruits, vegetables, and other natural materials.

Mrs. Mitchell used Veggie Baby, a plant-based powdered vegetable product made from real vegetables, which was mixed with water and used as paint for this activity. It is non-toxic and made entirely from vegetables, making it a safe and engaging way for students to experience ancient art techniques.

Students also participated in the food portion of the project by mummifying a hotdog, further reinforcing their understanding of ancient Egyptian practices.

It was a meaningful day of learning, creativity, and student engagement as history was brought to life.

🌏✨ Today we kicked off our Feed the Need fundraiser with a special Family Missions Memory Period! Parents and students gathered to pray for Bangladesh, where many of the 10,000 meals we’ll pack on October 23 will be sent. 🙏🍚

This month-long campaign is more than a fundraiser—it’s a chance for our Lux families to reflect God’s light by loving our neighbors both here in Jacksonville and across the world. 💡❤️
