A couple years ago, a friend of Margaret McMullan and the McMullan Writers Workshops, Scott Saalman, sent an email asking how to help support the young writers who join us each summer for an immersive week of creative writing in a residential setting at Millsaps College. Scott's gift created a full scholarship for a young writer to join us in the workshop -- and gave us the idea to create an easy way for others to support Mississippi's young writers. Thank you, Scott!
As Eudora Welty said, "all serious daring starts from within." Join us as we lift up the vision and creativity of our young writers and consider a small gift today! Link in comments or email us at [email protected].
Stay tuned for news about the 2026 workshop, including our keynote speaker announcement and summer workshop registration. Until then, save the date for June 8-12, 2026!
