MC Law was honored to host a retirement reception celebrating Professor Shirley Kennedy and her distinguished career of service, teaching, and advocacy, where colleagues, alumni, and friends gathered to reflect on her enduring impact in experiential legal education.
Throughout her tenure, Professor Kennedy has been a tireless advocate for children and families. As Director of the Child Advocacy Program and the Family and Children’s Law Center, she led critical initiatives including the Adoption Legal Clinic, Youth Court Clinic, and Guardian ad Litem Clinic, while also teaching and mentoring countless students.
On her last day of class, students, faculty and staff were present to thank her for her service with a “clap out.”
We extend our deepest gratitude to Professor Kennedy for over 25 years of service to MC Law and the community, and wish her all the best in her well-earned retirement.
