We are excited to share that we are having one final Brazilian samba drumming session - for all experience levels - this Tuesday, August 11, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm! This is geared toward 4th grade through adults, but younger kids are welcome with a parent. Bring family and friends! Our 2026 WELS Summer Band Camp just wrapped up on Friday! This wonderful group of KMLES and KMLHS former and current students and teachers represented KML Band over six days of making music, memories and friends! It was a wonderful week--and we already can't wait for next year!

First of all, Happy Independence Day!

Next, thanks to everyone who participated in KML’s summer drumming camp a couple weeks ago! The students had a great time learning some new instruments and making music together!

Starting on July 7th, come to KML on Tuesdays from 7:00 - 8:00 pm for a weekly Brazilian samba drumming group - for all experience levels! This will be geared toward 4th grade through adults, but younger kids are welcome with a parent. Bring family and friends! No sign up is necessary, but an RSVP form is attached so I can get an idea of who is interested in coming. Feel free to attend every week, or just once or twice!

Congratulations to our 2026 Band Award Winners!
The Woody Herman Jazz Award went to our amazing alto saxophonist Annelise K. The Louis Armstrong Jazz Award went to our spectacular senior jazz drummer Robert B. The Patrick Gilmore Award was earned by Haley U. and Julia S.--two senior band members whose selflessness and passion for music helped make the KML Bands a family over the past four years. Robert B. was recognized by his classmates for his immense impact on the overall KML Band program and was awarded the John Philip Sousa Band Award! Congrats!!

Our tradition of playing before the final day of exams continued this morning! It was a bit chilly, but our committed group persevered and played our favorite pep band songs one more time. God's blessings to you all as you wrap up your school year--HAVE A GREAT SUMMER!
