Research Initiative on Social Justice and Equity - RISE RISE is an interdisciplinary team of scholar-activists and practitioners committed to critical inquiry regarding systemic inequalities.

RISE is an interdisciplinary research team and community of faculty and students in the College of Education and Psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi. We are committed to critical inquiry regarding systemic inequalities, and to making real efforts to improve educational conditions in Mississippi, and broadly in the education system at large. Of particular interest to the RISE resea

rch team are issues of race/ethnicity, social class difference, gender and sexual identity, and the intersection among these factors.
