Welcome to Year 2 of Ignite CAPS!

Meet our new cohort: the future of education, business, and healthcare. We’ve doubled in size this year, with exponential growth across all three pathways!

A massive thank you to Southeast Missouri State University and Saint Francis Healthcare System for providing an inspiring classroom space every day where our associates can explore, experience, connect, and grow. We’re also deeply grateful to our incredible business partners for providing real-world projects, mentorship, site visits, job shadowing, internships, and guest speakers. You are making a lasting impact!

Wearing dedicated business attire gives our Ignite CAPS associates a huge boost as they take their "first step" toward their professional goals!

Thanks to the Jackson R-2 School District Foundation and their incredible generosity, our associates are stepping directly into their futures in style! The Foundation kindly funded scrubs for our medical students as well as professional pullovers for our business and education students.

When these associates wear this apparel, they are gaining:

Today, our Ignite CAPS associates officially kicked off their journey with onboarding at Southeast Missouri State University! ❤️🖤

Our students got fully prepped for the semester ahead by picking up their student IDs, securing parking passes, and getting a tour of SEMO's campus… including lunch at Towers!

Through this amazing partnership, JR2 students are taking in-person college courses—with Education and Business classes hosted right on SEMO's campus, and Medical classes taught on-site at Saint Francis Healthcare System by a university professor—all in addition to the Ignite CAPS curriculum and real-world experience provided by JR2 CAPS instructors Ashley Raney and Dr. Kelsey Spain.

These associates are getting:
💪🏻 Early College Advantage: Students earn real college credit before even graduating high school, saving both time and tuition costs.

🏫 Campus Life Experience: They get a seamless transition into higher education by navigating real university classrooms, resources, and campus culture.

💼 Career Readiness: Blending academic rigor with hands-on professional experiences gives our associates a massive competitive edge.

This incredible collaboration is helping our students "Find Their Fearless" by catapulting them toward their future careers and setting them up for long-term success.

Ignite CAPS business associates are teaming up with Codefi to bring hands-on AI skills training to our community through the Idea to App program.

This isn't a typical class project. It’s an immersive "build class" where students learn to use cutting-edge AI tools to turn plain-language ideas into real, working software. No prior coding experience required.

Every student goes out into industry, finds a real problem a business is facing, and builds a solution for that problem from start to finish, using the AI professional tools and skills they pick up in Idea to App.

By the end, students walk away with a working app they designed, built, and launched to solve a problem that actually matters.

To make this experience as impactful as possible, our students need real challenges from real organizations.
