Mrs. Robertson’s class is working diligently on writing four-paragraph explanatory essays. Students are comparing characters and analyzing how their individual reactions to challenges help us determine important themes within the story. They are also learning the importance of supporting their ideas with strong textual evidence. In ELA, we don’t make claims without proof—we always use evidence to support our thinking!

Our athletics fundraiser is officially underway, and we would love the support of our entire Thelma Barker family!

We have already raised almost $1,000, but we are working toward our $3,400 goal to help purchase equipment, supplies, and other needed items for our athletic programs.

📚✨ Growing Readers, Growing Together!

Our teachers at Thelma Barker are taking their learning to the next level! During grade-level PLC meetings today, our reading teachers received training on Magnetic Literacy, our new reading curriculum designed to support strong, confident readers.

Our teachers are equipping themselves with the tools and strategies needed to help every student thrive as a reader. We’re excited to see the impact this learning will have in our classrooms! ❤️📖
