We wrapped up our time with McWillie Elementary today! This group of kids has been a blast!
Day 3: Cadets explored chromatography to solve a mystery, observed various transformations of energy, and how Bernoulli's Lift helps keep the C17 in the air.
Day 4: Cadets got to finish their CAD (Computer Aided Design) program and programmed their rescue rover to rescue a stranded scientist. We were able to schedule a special visit with the Force Support Squadron and Security Forces Squadron. FSS let each students create their very own dog tag, and SFS allowed the kids time on their VR system! What a memorable experience for our cadets.
Day 5: Cadets explored surface area, revisited Newton's Law by launching Straw Rockets, did a little advanced math (Trigonometry) to help them hit their balloon targets, got to see inside the C17 simulator in our classroom, and graduated! 🌠🚀
We look forward to our continued partnership with JPS and McWillie Elementary!

The students from MCH were the best! STARBASE hopes to welcome them back in the future!!
Our kids were invited to Starbase Mississippi over Spring Break to learn about science and engineering! Working with coding technology and touring the base was a blast and such a good way to learn new skills. We are grateful for those who partner with our mission of bringing hope and healing through enriching activities

We were thrilled to host an incredible group of physics students from Oak Hill Academy during their recent visit to STARBASE MS. These talented seniors had the opportunity to program two different types of robots and put their skills to the test by completing simulated military missions.
One of the highlights of the day was their visit to the C-17 simulator, made possible by the outstanding pilot instructors at the 172d. A special thank you to Lt Col Hutchins for sharing his aviation knowledge and expertise—it truly made the experience unforgettable for our students.
We loved having this bright and motivated group with us and look forward to seeing all the amazing things they accomplish in the future.

Camden Elementary from Madison County School District wrapped up a fabulous week at STARBASE MS! From programming robots to solving a crime using chromatography, our cadets dove headfirst into hands-on STEAM adventures! They built density towers, engineered restraint systems observed chemical reactions, and cracked clues using ratios to unlock a cryptex. Along the way, they explored Newton’s Laws and applied real-world problem-solving skills—all while learning in an incredible space on an Air National Guard base!
It was a week full of curiosity, teamwork, and discovery—and most importantly, a whole lot of fun! Thank you MCSD and Camden Elementary for sharing your students with us!

Days 4 & 5 ✅
On Day 4, Hinds County School District students enjoyed investigating endothermic and exothermic reactions, coding robots, and touring a C17 aircraft while interacting with maintenance personnel, loadmasters, and pilots!
On Day 5, students completed their robotics mission, learned how to use navigation and mapping tools, and launched their straw rockets! We ended the day with our graduation ceremony. Delta earned the distinguished honor of 'Squadron Supreme' for their hard work, resilience, and teamwork throughout the week.
We had the BEST time with these cadets and look forward to working with Hinds County School District next year!

Day 3 with Hinds County School District 🚀✅
Today, students got to program Ozobots, create chromatographs to figure out who wrote a mean message on the C17, and explored the transfer of energy.
These young cadets have been a blast to teach. We are ready for Day 4!!

Hinds County School District had an unforgettable Day 2!
They started the day with launching Col Eggbert to the Moon. With the help of Dr. Eggstein, they determined which flights were successful. They explored Newton’s Laws, stacked mystery liquids, and had a special visit with Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES). They got to ask ANY and ALL questions before seeing their gear and training aids (life-like dummies that blink, breathe, and bleed).
We are pumped to welcome HCSD back on Monday.

Day 2 for McWillie Elementary ✅
These students started Day 2 learning how to navigate within our CAD program, investigated density with unknown liquids, and ended the day coding their Ozobots to ensure the C17 pilot made it to the hangar on time!
We can’t wait for McWillie’s return🤓

Hinds County School District takes on STARBASE MS!🚀✨🔬
Raymond, Utica, Bolton Edwards, and Gary Road Intermediate students completed Day One of STARBASE Academy. They reviewed states of matter, built molecules, decoded a cryptex using ratios, and built a restraint system for Col Eggbert. When they return, they will launch the Colonel to the Moon!
Tons of fun and even more learning happened today. If you’re interested in signing your school up for next school year, please email us at [email protected]
