A group representing our boys JHS singers spent the day at the SEMO River Campus performing with other Missouri high school boys at the Southeast Tenor - Bass Choral Festival. They represented the JHS Choral Department with professionalism and pride!

Our Chess Team had a great day at the Gateway Ed Bauer Open!
Our Students won 1st place as a team for the tournament and had these students win awards individually:

Hands on learning is in full swing at JHS!

Our Industrial Tech, Machine Manufacturing, and Wood Tech students are already deep into their projects for the semester! We love seeing our students not only putting their skills to work, but also working together, problem-solving, and providing peer feedback and guidance along the way.

There’s some impressive work happening in our shops, and we can’t wait to see the finished products!

Celebrating our Related Services Provider of the Month, Ms. Kati Knaup!

As an IEP Counselor for the district, Ms. Knaup provides essential support, guidance, and encouragement to help our students navigate their unique social, emotional, and academic goals. Her compassion and dedication make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students every day, ensuring they have the tools and confidence they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Celebrating our Special Education Teacher of the Month, Mr. Emilio Gonzalez!

Mr. Gonzalez has done an incredible job taking over the BEST Program at JHS this year, expanding opportunities for our students by connecting them with new job sites and valuable hands-on work experiences.

On top of empowering his students for life beyond the classroom, he also dedicates his time to coaching football for the Jackson Fighting Indians. Thank you, Mr. Gonzalez, for your dedication both in the classroom and on the field!

As educators, Dolly Parton’s incredible impact on literacy and her commitment to putting books into the hands of children makes our hearts extra full! There’s nothing better than celebrating someone who understood just how powerful the love of reading can be.

We were happy to celebrate Dolly and the difference she continues to make for young readers everywhere!

That was Kalob Vanaken’s response when he found out he had been named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program!

Kalob is being recognized as one of the top 50,000 high school students who entered the National Merit Scholarship competition.

Congratulations, Kalob! We are proud of this outstanding academic achievementand we have to agree, this is definitely some aura!

Our students were able to walk away from this experience with valuable knowledge on succeeding in any career field.

Today, a group of Jackson High School students had the opportunity to attend the “Women in Business: At the Heart of It All” conference, hosted by the Cape Chamber of Commerce.

Thanks to the generous support of local businesses, students were able to participate in meaningful networking opportunities, connect with professionals, and hear from a panel of CEOs representing a variety of industries.

Experiences like these help students explore career possibilities, build confidence, and see the many opportunities available to them beyond the classroom.

We are grateful to the local businesses who invested in our students and their futures.
