As the final bell rings and our students head off for a well-deserved summer break, we're reflecting on all of the incredible memories, achievements, friendships, and growth that made this year so special.

From the first day of school to the last, our students and staff worked hard, supported one another, and created countless moments that will not be forgotten. The smiles, laughter, learning, and school spirit have made this a year to remember!

As our teachers give one final "push" toward summer, we want to thank our students, families, and staff for making this such a successful year. Your dedication, partnership, and positivity have made all the difference.

🎢☀️ Celebrating Outstanding Attendance at Parkside! ☀️🎢

Students who achieved perfect attendance or had two days or fewer absences this school year were rewarded with an exciting trip to Michigan's Adventure! They enjoyed a day filled with thrilling rides, delicious food, and lots of fun with friends as we celebrated their commitment to being at school each day.
We are incredibly proud of these students for demonstrating the importance of attendance, responsibility, and dedication throughout the school year.
A special thank you to our Parkside Counseling Staff for planning and organizing this wonderful experience for our students. Your efforts helped create lasting memories and a well-deserved reward for their achievements. 🧡🖤

🏀 🏆 Shout out to our Jr. Vikings for representing us with a fierce determination, and an unbreakable spirit as they captured a down to the wire victory for their city, school and families. Parkside applauds Coach Tanner, Kay’Den Tanner, Onour Davis, Gi’ovanni Perdue and Sherman Wilson for claiming a title at our Gus Macker. The Viking family, fanbase was enormous and energized; pushing them to the finish. After the victory, they celebrated by attending Parkside’s Sunday training for two hours‼️

We’re inviting our community to help make this milestone unforgettable.
Beginning in January 2027, we will celebrate a full year of Viking pride, honoring Jackson High School’s history from its opening in September 1927 through today. With the theme “Once a Viking, Always a Viking,” this Centennial celebration will highlight the people, traditions, and stories that make JHS so special.
We are forming a Centennial Committee and would love for community members to join us. There will be opportunities to serve on or chair subcommittees based on your interests, including athletics, arts, alumni engagement, academics, media, history, scholarships, and more.
📅 Kickoff Meeting: Tuesday, June 16, 2026
🕠 Time: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
🍽 Light dinner and refreshments will be served
📍 Location: JHS Media Center
We have an exciting year planned, including monthly celebrations featuring each decade, alumni events, music and arts showcases, athletics recognition, and a community-wide rededication. A few special events will even take place before 2027 begins.
This is a wonderful chance to help tell the story of JHS, reconnect generations of Vikings, and celebrate 100 years of tradition, excellence, and community.
