This is a wonderful (and free!) opportunity for middle and high school students to grow their skills and explore jazz in a focused, supportive environment.

✨Exciting news!✨ Jackson Theatre Guild Jr’s production of Newsies Jr. is right around the corner, and our absolutely fantastic student Savanna will be taking the stage as Medda Larkin! 🎭🎶 We are so proud of her hard work and can’t wait to see her shine in this role! 🌟👏

✨ Meet the Cast of Newsies Jr.!Today we’re thrilled to introduce you to Savanna Garrett, who plays Medda Larkin!

Q: What’s your favorite part about bringing a character to life in Newsies Jr.?
A: I am always thrilled to get cast in any production, but this character is larger than life! I’m so excited to bring the Savanna version of Medda Larkin to the stage!!

Q: What’s one thing you’ve discovered about yourself while preparing for Newsies Jr.?
A: One thing I’ve definitely discovered about myself is how much I appreciate the opportunity to have creative freedom! Whether it’s choreography, poses, or sections of music, I love that my directors have allowed me to make this role my own!!

Q: If you could headline any newspaper with one message about why theatre is important, what would it say?
A: Join the Theatre: A Stage for Expression, A Voice, and a Family You Didn’t Know You Needed.

Q: Anything else you’d like us to know?
A: Guild Jr. is TOP NOTCH—the organization, the leadership, the creative team, and the talent. I can’t say enough good things about Guild Jr! I love being cast in Newsies Jr. because it’s such an energetic and inspiring show. Every role has personality and heart—we get to step into the shoes of passionate, determined young people. This story is all about standing up for what you believe in, and I enjoy getting to express that on stage!!
