Join us in congratulating Dr. Jan Wilms, Professor Emeritus, on his recently announced retirement. Dr. Wilms taught for 38 years, 31 of which were spent at Union. He also earned the academic honor and distinction of a Fulbright scholarship, which enabled him to work with students in Vietnam last year. Dr. Wilms, we thank you for your service to Union and wish you the best in your post-retirement endeavors.

On Tuesday night the department held its annual end-of-year celebration, and the following students were recognized:

- Sun-Kit Tsui received the First Year Programming Award
- Caleb Atkins received the Outstanding Research Award from the Center for Scientific Studies
- Caleb Starke received the Joe Tucker Scholarship for Fall 2022

Last Friday Awards Day was held, and the following students were recognized for their achievements:

The Academic Excellence Medals are awarded to the outstanding graduating senior in each major as selected by the faculty of the major. In Computer Science the medal was awarded to Caleb Atkins, and in Information Technology the medal was awarded to Reid Lydon.

The Bill Truex Award in Computer Science is presented to the outstanding senior in the department as selected by the CSC faculty based on demonstrated creativity, enthusiasm and academic achievement. This year it was awarded to Ben Trainor.
