Jackson College health clinic is available to current students and staff for most of your health car

The cost to be seen at the JC Health Clinic is $5.00 cash or check for students and $10.00 cash or check for staff. Services:
• Physicals (Program or Sports)
• Sick visits (sore throat, earache, congestion, etc.)
• Vaccinations (additional costs)
• Medication refills
• Blood testing
• Women health exams
• Birth control, contraceptives and pregnancy testing

The National Weather Service has determined that the AQI for particulate matter today has reached over 150 and has been deemed unhealthy for all groups. Please plan your day accordingly to minimize exposure to the poor air quality. Jackson College strongly encourages the use of an N-95 if you absolutely need to be outdoors. Reduce your exposure by choosing less strenuous activities or shortening the amount of time you are active outdoors.

MDHHS updates recommendations for cyclosporiasis prevention

MDHHS continues to investigate an outbreak of cyclosporiasis, pointing to lettuce and salad greens as a potential source for the outbreak. Other foods with positive outbreaks include raspberries, green onions, cilantro and more. As of this week, cases were listed at 2,640.

Health officials say a source for the surge in cases has not yet been identified. The reported cases include Monroe, Lenawee, Washtenaw, Wayne, Livingston, Shiawassee and Jackson counties.

Multistate outbreaks of salmonella linked to contact with baby poultry

Michigan health officials are warning residents about growing multistate salmonella outbreaks linked to handling backyard chicks and ducklings. Michigan has reported 21 cases. Officials urge thorough handwashing, keeping poultry outdoors and limiting contact for young children, older adults and immunocompromised people.
