❤️ Jackson, you showed up. ❤️

Last night, we celebrated 50 years of the Jackson Area Career Center — and what a celebration it was!

Hundreds of people came through our doors, the parking lots were packed, every last piece of cake disappeared, and our Culinary Arts students absolutely knocked it out of the park (that mashed potato bar! 🥔🙌).

We welcomed retired staff, former and current students, families, community and business partners, and friends from across Jackson County. We were also honored to receive a special proclamation from State Representative Kathy Schmaltz recognizing this milestone.

More than anything, the night was filled with pride — in the people who built JACC, the students here today, the memories brought to life through our historical displays, and the community that has supported career and technical education for generations.

🫶 To everyone who came, shared a memory, helped us celebrate or has been part of our story over the past five decades: thank you. We couldn’t be prouder to be part of the Jackson community.

🎉 One more story as we count down to 50 years!

For decades, JACC has helped students take what they learn in the classroom and put it to work in the real world — and our business community has been an incredible partner every step of the way.

Over his longtime career as Co-Op Coordinator, Bob Engel connected hundreds of students with local employers. Today, Work-based Learning Coordinator Ron Richards— himself a former JACC student and instructor — is carrying that work forward.

🌼 Our JACC FFA students have been growing something special all summer—and today, their beautiful mums are ready for new homes!

They’ll be at the Grand River Farmers Market at the Armory until 2pm. Mums are available in several colors and varieties for $10, $15 and $25. 🌸
