Kristin Hanson shot 82 to win her fifth straight and sixth overall women’s club championship at the Jackson Golf Club. Karlee Belz was second (87) and Angela Mohns third (93).

If the Bulls win, they go to state.

After 20 years, I have resigned as sports editor of the Jackson County Pilot and Lakefield Standard, effective Aug. 21.
This job has allowed me to have the best seat in the house for some of the greatest moments in JCC history and has given me the chance to cover and work with incredible athletes and coaches. I can’t thank them enough for making my job a lot easier with their kindness and support — and all their winning.
Thanks for reading the paper and all the kinds words throughout the years. It has always been appreciated.
I don’t know what’s next, but I know I’ll still be at the fields and in the gym as much as possible. This time, I’ll have an even better spot — next to my wife and kids in the bleachers.
