The waddlers and toddlers have been having so much fun! They did some cool sensory activities yesterday which included, moonsand, and Easter grass! The children had so much fun exploring these different textures. Sensory learning is very important to children aged 1-2 because it introduces them to new experiences they haven’t had before, it helps them to socialize with their friends in the environment over the activities, and it supports emotional regulation such as calming down or expressing excitement through a new found love for a certain texture!

This week we are highlighting our infant room! Our infants love music in all different forms, whether it’s exploring noises on a xylophone, or listening to their teachers sing songs at greeting time or listening to soft music while they go to sleep! Music is incorporated in all classrooms at little rainbows, music is necessary for mind development in children, Music stimulates neural connections in the brain, enhancing cognitive function and development. Music also promotes brain plasticity, allowing children's brains to adapt and change in response to new experiences, it provides a space for emotional expression. Music is very important to children and adults❤️🌈

We’re kicking off the week with our preschool classroom, on Friday the preschool classroom got to learn some fun stuff about colors! They divided their plates into 4 equal sections and their teacher called out a color and they colored it! They did the same thing with letters too! The preschool classroom had so much fun doing this activity , learning about colors early on is very beneficial to the children when building their memory, color, and pattern recognition, and using crayons to color the color boxes is very helpful with artistic expression, and can help them be at a sense of calm because art can be very calm and fun for the mind! 😊🌈

Today we are highlighting our waddler room! Yesterday they did an activity with sponges and balls! Both of these materials were water absorbent so the students had a very good time making the sponges soak up the water and squeezing it out 😊 they also tested different heights at which the ball would make the water splash more it was so much fun!😊🌈

Today we are highlighting our early preschool classroom as yesterday they did a fun activity called straw threading! This is a fine motor activity in which the children take a pipe cleaner and a piece of a cut up straw and thread the straw pieces onto the pipe cleaners! This helps them build up their hand strength, helps them focus, and also helps them to keep trying if at first they don't succeed until they get it onto the pipe cleaner! They had so much fun with this activity 😊

Over the break of snow days and school days off kids club had the joy of making slime!! Kids club benefits from doing stem activities like these by learning the knowledge of how ingredients being put together can make a final result, it can also help them strengthen their hands and they really enjoy stretching it as long as they can without it breaking!

Today we're going to be talking about fidgets!! They are a toy that children love so much, in the waddler classroom they love crinkle tubes, they enjoy squishing them up and pulling them apart to make a crinkle noise, they also love to connect the two ends and make bracelets or headbands, fidget toys are a good way for children to focus on something to calm their minds and get their energy out, it also helps them with their fine motor skills!
