NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) is a student-run organization that focuses on communication sciences and disorders.

The Jackson State Undergraduate Chapter of NSSLHA (National Student Speech Language Hearing Association) is a student-run organization that caters to undergraduate students in the communicative disorders department. This organization is available for all students who are interested in learning more about communication sciences. It also provides Communicative Disorder Majors and Minors to get the c

hance to meet one another and learn about being a Speech/Language Pathologist and Audiologist. NSSLHA is the only official student association that is recognized by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA). Membership is available at the local, state, and national levels. Any full- and/or part-time JSU undergraduate or post-baccalaureate students interested in the study of normal and disordered human communication behavior, who are not eligible to receive, and have not received nor applied for, their Certificates of Clinical Competence (CCCs) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), shall be eligible for membership in the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association, Jackson State University Undergraduate Chapter. We enjoyed making Thanksgiving cards for MadCAPP today. Madison Countians Allied Against Poverty (MadCAPP) is a non-profit organization located in Canton, MS. It services 2,800 families that live below the poverty level in Madison County.

We hope these families enjoy the Thanksgiving cards crafted by our students.

We have been really busy this month!! In the month of October, we participated in the Laps for Little Ones to support the Little Lighthouse, met with students from Mississippi State to discuss future partnerships, provided candy for trick or treat fun with our preschoolers, and decorated our trunks for the preschoolers at the Early Childhood Center. We’ve had so much fun sharing our love of speech and language with the community!
