During this highly interactive workshop, educators will:
🔹 Examine the economic impact of Jim Crow laws
🔹 Explore redlining and its lasting effects on communities
🔹 Study the Great Migration through the art of Jacob Lawrence
🔹 Revisit the March on Washington as a call for economic inclusion
🔹 Receive classroom-ready lessons and primary source resources

Day One includes sessions at Jackson State University and a special lunch celebrating the birthday of Margaret Walker.

Day Two features:
🚌 A charter bus tour of Jackson civil rights sites
🏛 Tour of the Civil Rights Two Mississippi Museums
🍔 Lunch provided at The Big Apple Inn

Kids will explore fun activity stations, and discover smart money habits like saving, spending, earning, and budgeting — all in a high-energy, family-friendly environment. Parents will love the opportunity to spark important conversations about money in a way that feels exciting instead of overwhelming. From interactive challenges to take-home resources, Family Financial Fun Night helps children build confidence, teamwork, and real-world skills while making unforgettable memories together. It’s learning, laughter, and family time all rolled into one amazing evening!

This professional development opportunity is designed for teachers in:
• 9-12 College & Career Readiness
• 9-12 Work-Based Learning
• 9-12 JROTC 3 & 4
• Career Coaches (space permitting)

Participants who successfully complete the program may receive:
✔ 7.5 CEUs
✔ Access to the student course shell
✔ $250 stipend for eligible teachers
✔ 942 College & Career Readiness endorsement opportunities

🗓 Program Dates: June 1 – July 31, 2026
