After an exciting Fun & Fitness Week, we’re kicking off Week 3 of Summer Camp 2026 with Career Week.

This week, Club members will explore a variety of careers, learn about different professions, meet community leaders and professionals, and discover how their interests, talents, and education can help shape their future paths.

Career Week is designed to help young people think beyond today and begin imagining the possibilities that lie ahead. Through hands-on activities, conversations, and career exploration opportunities, our youth will gain valuable exposure to the many ways they can make an impact in their communities and the world around them.

At BGCCM, we believe it’s never too early to start preparing for a great future.

We can’t wait to see our Club members learn, explore, and dream big this week.

HAPPENING NOW at the BGCCM Sykes Sprout Spot!

Our Club members are rolling up their sleeves and getting to work during the first planting day of the Sprouting Great Futures Garden Club.

Today, youth are learning where food comes from, exploring hands-on STEAM concepts, and building skills that will help them grow both in and out of the garden.

We’re grateful to Amazon for helping make opportunities like this possible through its investment in BGCCM youth programming.

Amazon’s Investment in Action 🌱

Today, members at our Sykes Unit are getting their hands dirty and their minds growing during the first planting day of the Sprouting Great Futures Garden Club at the newly named Sykes Sprout Spot.

Through hands-on gardening and STEAM-based learning experiences, Club members are exploring science, developing problem-solving skills, building responsibility, and learning where food comes from while working together to grow something special.

The Sykes Sprout Spot is one example of how Amazon’s recent investment in BGCCM youth programming is creating meaningful opportunities for young people to learn, explore, and grow.

From preparing the soil to planting seeds, today’s activities are helping our youth connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences while building confidence, leadership skills, and a deeper connection to their community.

We are grateful to Amazon for investing in opportunities that inspire curiosity, innovation, and growth for the young people we serve.

Today, we’re not just planting a garden. We’re planting knowledge, responsibility, teamwork, and Great Futures.

Week 2 of Summer Camp is here, and we’re ready to get moving.

This week, Club members across Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi are participating in Fun & Fitness Week, where they’ll discover the importance of healthy lifestyles through physical activity, teamwork, sports, recreation, and active play.

Fun & Fitness Week is about more than exercise. It’s about building healthy habits, developing confidence, learning teamwork, and encouraging young people to make positive choices that support their overall well-being.

Throughout the week, Club members will have opportunities to stay active, challenge themselves, encourage one another, and learn that fitness can be both fun and rewarding.

We can’t wait to see our youth in action as they continue to learn, grow, and thrive this summer.

We are excited to share that Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Mississippi has been awarded a $75,000 grant from Amazon to support STEM programming for Club members.

This investment will help provide hands-on learning opportunities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and exploration in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

We are grateful to Amazon for investing in our youth and helping us create more opportunities for young people across Central Mississippi to learn, grow, and prepare for bright futures.

This is just the beginning, and we look forward to sharing more as these opportunities come to life throughout our Clubs.

From hands-on activities and academic enrichment to sports, arts, field trips, and life-changing experiences, we're ready for a summer of growth, discovery, and new opportunities.
