Before the mental 🧠 and physical 💪 demands of the PTA program really kick in, our 1st- and 2nd-year SPTAs took some time to connect, laugh, and build those all-important relationships!

PTA Class of 2027 — this is your LAST fall semester of PTA school!

You’ve survived the exams, practicals, check-offs, early mornings, late nights, and plenty of moments that made you wonder, “Can I really do this?”

And look at you now… STILL STANDING. 💪💚

This semester, soak it all in. The laughs with your classmates. The stressful days you’ll laugh about later. The skills that are finally starting to feel natural. Every “last” is one step closer to the finish line.

Our JSCC PTA students had a great opportunity to explore an increasingly relevant topic in physical therapy: AI in Physical Therapy: Improving Documentation Without Compromising Clinical Judgment.

A special thank you to APTA Tennessee Jackson District, Nick Nordvedt with Dynamix Physical Therapy, and Adam Kever with Prompt Health for spending time with our students and sharing perspectives from both the clinical and technology sides of the conversation.

We especially appreciated the thoughtful, educational approach to the discussion focusing on how AI is evolving within physical therapy practice, its potential role in documentation, and the importance of keeping sound clinical judgment at the center of patient care.

Experiences like this give our students a chance to think beyond the classroom, ask questions, and better understand how emerging technology may shape the profession they are preparing to enter.

We, the JSCC PTA Program faculty, are so proud of Kirsten!

Philippians 4:4
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.”

I want to give all the glory and honor to God. Without him, I would not have made it this far. I also want to thank the faculty at Jackson State for preparing us for this exam and giving us the knowledge we need to pass the NPTE. I can't fully express my gratitude to everyone who has supported, encouraged, or prayed for me over the past two years. Most of all, I want to thank my biggest supporter, my mom. She saw the hardest moments of this journey. She saw the stress, tears, and long hours of studying for school and the NPTE. She never stopped encouraging me and wouldn’t let me give up.

“I don’t think I’ll ever have the words to describe how grateful and joyful I feel right now. All I want to say is that I am so grateful to God for this beautiful blessing he has given me. I want to thank everyone who’s helped me throughout the PTA program, clinicals and boards.

We, the JSCC PTA Program faculty, are so proud of Jeremy for passing the NPTE-PTA!

This achievement reflects the dedication, perseverance, and hard work that went into preparing for one of the biggest milestones in a PTA career. We are incredibly proud to have been part of this journey and can't wait to see the positive impact you'll make as a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.

I really enjoyed taking my classes at the Gibson County Center, especially A&P. Professor Scallion was an amazing teacher, and I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to learn from him. He made a challenging class enjoyable and gave me a great foundation that I know will help me in the PTA program.
