Sharing the exciting news that LES was approved for the Spoons Across America Explorers Grant! 🎉👩‍🍳🥕🍎

Thanks to this incredible opportunity, our students will participate in engaging, hands-on culinary and nutrition experiences designed to build confidence, curiosity, and healthy habits—all while having fun!

🍽️ Here's what families can look forward to this year:

🥄 Complete classroom cooking kits featuring child-safe kitchen tools, mixing bowls, measuring cups, immersion blenders, tasting supplies, and more.

🍎 Grade-level learning experiences, including:
- PreK–Kindergarten: Exploring and tasting fruits while learning through hands-on activities.
- 1st Grade: Storybook-based lessons about farming, food safety, and trying new foods.
- 2nd Grade: Discovering how food connects people, cultures, and communities around the world.
- 3rd Grade: Learning to understand nutrition labels, advertising, and healthy food choices.
- 4th Grade: Exploring food's connection to the environment and reducing food waste.
- 5th Grade: Building culinary skills, learning about food-related STEAM careers, and creating original recipes.

🌱 Even better, the lessons are designed to incorporate locally and seasonally available foods, allowing students to connect what they learn in the classroom with the foods they see and enjoy in their own community.
