First Presbyterian Day School is a kingdom school, serving children K3-6th grades.

Our vision is to see our students grow in “wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” This is accomplished by dedicated, experienced, and qualified teachers who are called by God to teach children not only to read, write, and do math, but love God with all their heart. The academic results of FPDS are comparable to the finest independent schools in the nation. Our students are highly quali

A few more sweet moments from K5 Graduation Day. 🎓

What a joy it has been to watch these students learn, grow, and shine throughout the year. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can’t wait to see them continue their journey at FPDS.

Congratulations, Kindergarten graduates—we know God has wonderful things ahead for each of you!

Yesterday our preschoolers took one more magical step toward kindergarten ✨📚

From a special reading of The Night Before Kindergarten by our very own fairy godmother, Kim Duhs, to receiving their new kindergarten bags, enjoying a special snack, and walking the kindergarten halls — the day was full of excitement, wonder, and sweet new beginnings.

We can’t wait to watch these little learners continue to grow as they head off to kindergarten!

Last week, we celebrated the people and students who make FPDS such a special place. We also reflected on the many ways God has nurtured growth throughout this school year while recognizing our students’ hard work, accomplishments, and achievements. From honoring student success to recognizing years of dedicated service, the Acorns to Oaks Celebration was a meaningful reminder of the strength of our community. Congratulations to all who were recognized!

✨ Meet Julie Hoeniges ✨

Originally from Meridian, Julie brings 17 years of teaching experience and a heart for helping students discover that they can do math — they just may not know it “yet.”

Julie and her husband have been married since 2002 and are raising four wonderful children while staying active at Lakeland Presbyterian Church. From gardening and home projects to quoting favorite movies, she loves spending time with her family and creating joy in everyday moments.

This year, Julie is especially excited to teach math full-time and help students grow academically while building confidence along the way. Her greatest joy is seeing those “light bulb” moments come to life in the classroom!

If her memoir had a title? Pivot.

⬇️ Has Mrs. Hoeniges helped your child grow in math confidence this year? Share a favorite memory, encouraging word, or “light bulb moment” in the comments so we can celebrate her together!

For years, Barnyard Praise has been a special part of life at FPDS, and our K5 students brought it to life once again in the sweetest way. Through their songs and smiles, they reminded us of growing in faith, showing kindness, and sharing Jesus’ love.

Has your family ever experienced Barnyard Praise? Share a favorite moment with us below 🤍

A day full of full-circle moments 💙

From reminiscing with teachers, to reciting the Declaration, a classic game of Platoon with Coach Hand, and ending with a meaningful senior panel pouring into our 6th graders ✨A day of sweet memories, wise words, and lasting impact.

As we send our seniors off, we’re reminded of the truth in Isaiah 61:3 “they will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”

Seniors left with a small reminder of where their story began 📖💙 Here’s to turning the page to a new chapter

Putting our STEM skills to the test! 💡

Our 2nd graders explored how matter can be arranged in different ways by taking on a fun challenge—building towers and bridges using only a few simple materials. The real test? Making them strong enough to withstand a big blow! 🌬️🏗️
