“The moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew I wanted to be a Kappa Delta. When I arrived, I knew no one, and the women of Kappa Delta were some of the most welcoming and kind people I had ever met. During recruitment, I truly fell in love with the girls in KD and everything Kappa Delta stood for. From the very first day, I knew I wanted to be a part of this sisterhood because of how highly the women spoke of one another, their passion for giving back, and their commitment to helping each other grow into the best versions of themselves. Being able to meet people who have become true sisters while giving back to others and growing as an individual has been such a wonderful experience. I chose Kappa Delta because I wanted to be a part of something special, but it has given me so much more than I ever could have imagined. The friendships I have made and the memories I have created are truly special and will stay with me for a lifetime. Kappa Delta has allowed me to strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the past three years. Over the past two weeks sister Laila has been working as a counselor at Millsaps’ MRI Pre-health camp! Here’s her recap of her experience!!

“This summer, I worked at the MRI Pre-Health Camp at Millsaps College, where I helped support students interested in healthcare and STEM careers. I assisted with daily activities, guided campers through educational experiences, and worked closely with staff to create a positive learning environment. Through this experience, I strengthened my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills while learning more about the variety of careers within healthcare. Working with students and healthcare-focused programs further reinforced my passion for pursuing a career in nursing and serving others.” -Laila Fredieu PC 25’ 💚

Coming into college, I was shy and hesitant to step outside of my comfort zone, but the women of this chapter welcomed me with open arms and helped me grow into a more confident version of myself. Through their kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support, I have found some of my closest friends and a true sense of belonging. They inspire me every day to be my authentic self and to pursue my goals with confidence. The friendships I have built and the love and support I receive from these women have made Kappa Delta feel like home, and they are the reason I chose KD.”

“Choosing Kappa Delta has been one of the best decisions I have made during my time at Millsaps College. I joined Kappa Delta looking for friendships and opportunities, but I gained so much more than that. I found women who constantly support me, encourage me, and inspire me to become a better person every day. The women of Mu Chapter have become some of my truest friends and have always been there for me when I need it the most. Serving as president has been such a meaningful experience because Kappa Delta has given me the confidence to lead, inspire action, and give back to the chapter that has given me so much.
