Happy Labor Day!

We are pleased to announce that we will return to in-person learning districtwide on Tuesday, September 6. We have checked the water pressure at each school and nearly all are suitable for our scholars and staff to return.

However, we are still experiencing low water pressure at Forest Hill High School. We are working on a contingency plan for scholars and staff who attend Forest Hill that will allow them to report to alternate sites for instruction. We will notify that school community by 6 p.m. today.

As our schools reopen, we have several whose air conditioning system depends on water to run effectively. Therefore, we anticipate delays in our buildings reaching the coolest possible temperatures as water pressure continues to rebuild throughout the system.

We will continue to monitor our water pressure daily, as it often fluctuates, and be prepared to make the necessary shifts to our daily school schedule. Rest assured, we will make every possible effort to keep our schools open for in-person learning. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We look forward to a full day of learning on Tuesday, September 6.

Although schools are meeting virtually this week, JPS will continue with its scheduled Professional Development Day for teachers on Tuesday, March 23. Students will be dismissed on the 80% Day Schedule as follows:

- Elementary schools at 12:24 p.m.
- Middle schools at 1:25 p.m.
- High schools at 2:50 p.m.
