Today, we would like to take a special moment to celebrate one of our finest Lions, future 8th Grade scholar, D’Kesia Gordan! 🧡💙🤍

🏅 D’Kesia is being recognized for her outstanding academic achievement and for earning Honor Roll all school year long! Her hard work, dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence have truly set her apart as a scholar who exemplifies what it means to ROAR! 🦁📚✨

We would also like to sincerely apologize to D’Kesia and her family. Due to an oversight, D’Kesia was not recognized during our 7th Grade Awards Ceremony as she should have been. While we cannot change that moment, we are committed to ensuring her accomplishments receive the recognition they deserve. ❤️

Our 8th grade scholars ended their middle school journey in STYLE! 🎉 The day began with a memorable Promotion Ceremony filled with pride, celebration, and accomplishment as our scholars crossed the stage ready for their next chapter. 🎓👏🏽

The celebration continued into an unforgettable evening of elegance, laughter, dancing, fellowship, and BEST LOOKS! 🔥✨ From stunning gowns to sharp suits and grand entrances, our scholars showed up and showed out! 💃🏽🕺🏽

The 8th Grade Ball was truly a night to remember as students enjoyed great food, music, fun, photos, and memories that will last a lifetime! 📸🎶💙

During Teacher Appreciation Week at the May 5 Board meeting, outstanding educators within Jackson Public Schools were recognized for their exceptional dedication to science education and scholar achievement. These teachers demonstrated an unwavering commitment by leading impactful school-level science fairs with over 100 scholar participants and supporting scholars as they advanced to district, regional, and state competitions.

Their efforts extended beyond the classroom, as they mentored scholars to think critically, communicate scientific reasoning, and strive for excellence. Through their leadership and persistence, scholars were not only successful in competition but also positioned for future academic opportunities, including scholarships.

In recognition of their impact, and in partnership with Enough! Girl Get Up, each educator received a Certificate of Outstanding Dedication and $100 classroom bucks, honoring their leadership, mentorship, and commitment to advancing science education and scholar success.

May 4th–8th, our administration team celebrated our TOP-TIER educators the ROARing way because our teachers deserve NOTHING but the BEST! 👏🏽✨

🍩 Monday – Beach Hat Day 🏖️👒
We kicked the week off with sunshine and appreciation! Teachers enjoyed a delicious Donut & Danish Breakfast Bar ☕🍩 followed by Gourmet Sandwiches for lunch 🥪😋 and ended the day cooling off with an Ice Cream Sundae Bar 🍨🍒🍫

🌮 Tuesday – Sombrero Day 🌵🎉
Teachers wore their sombreros and enjoyed a festive Taco Bar loaded with all the fixings 🌮🧀🥑 along with our refreshing Mane Freeze Slushy Station 🍧🔥 A special breakfast was also provided by our AMAZING cafeteria staff! ❤️👏🏽

⚾ Wednesday – Baseball Cap Day 🧢⚾
Because our teachers continue “Knocking Teaching Out of the Park!” 💥 Teachers enjoyed a Hotdog & Sausage Bar 🌭 loaded with every topping you could imagine 🤩 plus another round of our fan-favorite slushy station 🍧💙

🤠 Thursday – Cowboy Hat Day 🐎🤎
“Wrangling Teaching Every Day!” Teachers came dressed in their western gear and enjoyed an old-fashioned BBQ feast 🍗🔥 featuring ribs, chicken, baked beans with ground beef, potato salad, pasta salad, macaroni & cheese, and ALL the southern fixings! 🤤🍽️

🎨 Friday – Beret Day 🖌️🖼️
“Your Work is a Work of Art!” Teachers closed out the week with elegance and excellence while enjoying our GRAND Pasta Bar 🍝✨ featuring:
🍤 Seafood Pasta
🍗 Chicken Pasta
🔥 Ultimate Pasta with seafood & chicken
🥗 Loaded Salad Bar
🍰 Delectable Desserts from cheesecake to delicious cookies and sweet treats!

🎁 Teachers also received special gifts representing Cardozo and tokens of appreciation for their hard work and dedication throughout the year! 💙🧡

👏🏽 Throughout the ENTIRE week, Principal Sloan led as a true servant leader—serving food, greeting teachers, helping with stations, and ensuring every teacher felt valued, appreciated, and celebrated! 🦁💪🏽

The administration team poured love, care, and appreciation into every detail because Cardozo teachers are simply ELITE! 🔥
