Join me Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 6:30 PM at the Jackson Library for a special evening with Brent “The Zoo Man” Mielke—author, storyteller, and local history researcher.

I’ll be sharing stories from my books, talking about the true crimes, bizarre events, and forgotten people of southern Minnesota, and visiting with everyone afterward.

This is part of the Jackson County Library System’s Author Road Trip. Come out, bring a friend, and enjoy an evening of stories that bring the past back to life!

There are six new bestsellers, three new movies, four new audiobooks, twelve new children's books, and thirteen other new books, including fourteen that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "The Steps," "The French Illusion," and "Hollow Bones." The new movies this week are "Outlander Season 8," "Supergirl," and "Minions & Monsters."

The new bestsellers this week include "Threshing Day," "Swan Song: Diana, My Sister," and "Hollywood, Ending." The new movies this week include "Epic: Elvis Presley in Concert," "Marshals: Season One," and "Cheer Dad."

The October Newsletter from the Jackson County Library System has dates and times for all of the fun we have planned as we kick off our fall programming!

In October, you can travel among all of our libraries to meet fascinating authors on our Author Road Trip, join in on weekly storytimes, and take part in our monthly after school events! We’re also celebrating TeenTober with special events sponsored by Prairielands at all three libraries for teens and tweens and will be sharing those details as we get them!
