Who can relate to this checklist of how learning the violin works??

(Shared with permission from one of my students as she was practicing at home today....)

1. Get frustrated and angry.
2. Snap bow and break violin.
3. Stomp.
4. Pout.
5. Cry because she broke them, until her face is red and puffy.
6. (Emotionally) eat Dino Bites.
7. Sugar crash.
8. Cry self to sleep.
9. Snore.

I told her she's on the right track 🤣

Repairing an open seam 🎶 An open seam compromises the resonance of the instrument and often creates a buzz.

Interesting fact: string instruments are made to have seams open up to preserve the integrity of the instrument by preventing cracks in the wood. Open seams often occur in the winter when it is drier and the humidity is low.
