PROUD of our scholars!!!!!! 🥹
Congratulations! Twenty-four scholars from Medgar and Myrlie Evers Career Development Center - JPS completed a spring internship at the Nissan manufacturing facility in Canton, gaining valuable real-world experience as they completed the final months of high school. The 12-week paid internship allowed scholars to apply technical skills learned in their Career and Technical Education programs while working in a professional manufacturing environment. Of the 24 participants, 19 were in the Advanced Manufacturing track, and 5 scholars gained experience in the automotive service sector.
The experience culminated in a capstone project where scholars designed and presented a comprehensive portfolio reflecting their internship work and future goals. Capstone presentations were held on April 30, 2026, and were attended by executives from Nissan North America, Jackson Public Schools team members, and proud parents in celebration of their accomplishments.
