So. Since this is the latest animal to go around and go viral, let's talk about it.

Meet the Sun Bear

They are real. They are not Chinese people in suits.

At a Max of 160 lbs, these are the world's smallest bears. Found in southeast Asia, these bears spend a large part of their lives even as adults in trees where they look for their primary food, honey, bugs and fruits.

If you still question their existence, they can be found in zoos in the US including San Diego, St. Louis, Honolulu, Atlanta and Tampa.

Now for the sad part.

In China, South Korea and Vietnam, these bears are farmed for their bile found in their gallbladder. These bears are captured or bought as cubs and then placed in cages roughly 4 feet long by 2 feet. The bears can live in these cages for about 10 years at which point their Bile production drops and they are slaughtered for food. The Bile is believed to have medicinal purposes in Asian Culture. The demand for bear Bile has become so high that it has reached the North America and our own black bears are being targeted.

So yes. They are real. They are cute. And they need help

So Saturday morning we got a bit of an unusual request.

This fine gentleman turned 101 and his favorite animal in the world is ducks! His granddaughter reached out and asked if we'd be able to stop out and celebrate with them. Of course we can't miss a great occasion like this so we surprised him with Donald!

We visited for about half an hour and had a blast. Thank you again to his family for including us in your special day!

As summer winds down, our calendar is opening up. We are still doing birthday parties (and will be all winter) and would love to make your next party wild!

We also offer pony/unicorn parties and petting farms with your favorite critters!!

Halloween party at school? Can't beat having real life creepy crawlies in your kids classrooms. From Tarantulas to Giant snakes, it's bringing your fears to life. But be careful. By the end those fears will be fascination and you may be looking for your own new friend.

Hosting a trunk or treat? Got an apple orchard? Can't be fall in Michigan without pony rides and a petting farm!!

In November we offer our annual turkey trot with everyone favorite wagon riding turkey Big Bertha (Don't worry she still gets her annual pass)

In December are you hosting a nativity scene at your church? Plastic scenes are out of date and boring! Bring back a blast from Jerusalem past with one of our awesome petting farms. Sorry no camels but everyone favorite camel cousin Cash the Llama will do his best to fill in those smiles! And everyone favorite donkey Dora will still offer her famous kisses. Learn how every donkey carries the Cross of God themselves on their backs.

We are locally owned and insured and would love to share our animals with you!!!

With the threat of the Avian Flu as high as its been in 7 years, please refrain from randomly dumping ducks off at the ranch. Both myself and my neighbors appreciate it.
