JCISD Young Adult Program

JCISD Young Adult Program The Young Adult Program at Central Campus is a service of the Jackson County ISD and primarily serves Special Education students ages 18-26.

The Kit Young Center is located on the Torrant Center campus at 1185 W. Parnall Road in Jackson, Michigan. The Center is a service of the Jackson County Intermediate School District, and has classrooms primarily serving special education students ages 18-26 with Moderately Cognitive Impairments (MoCI) as well as multiple impairments. The purpose of its programs is to provide community education, mobility, pre-vocational and vocational training in various actual real life settings resulting in successful community utilization and development of skills of community independence. We believe in building upon each students individual level of functioning, fostering the attainment of their highest possible level of achievement.

The end of the year is quickly approaching ! Please remember that graduation and prom is right around the corner on June 2nd. Letters went home with details for our Young Adult students. Tickets are required so please return the form that was sent home indicating who will be chaperoning and how many tickets are needed!!

Huge thank you to Campus Outfitters, a JCISD Young Adult Program, for creating the t-shirts for our East Lansing Public Schools Mental Health Summit. And an even bigger shoutout to Mya, Sierra, Tori, and Abby—who came to personally present them. Kind, confident, thoughtful, and incredibly talented—they showed up with so much pride in their work. We loved getting to spend time with you and hear about the care you put into this project. We’re so grateful to have you as part of this important event!

Join us Wednesday, April 29 from 5–7 PM at East Lansing High School as we come together to support student mental health. 💙
