๐
People often confuse giving everyone the same thing with giving everyone what they need to succeed.
Equality provides the same resources, but equity adjusts to the diverse needs of individuals so that the outcome is fair and everyone has a shot.

๐จ Jackson Community โ Weโre Launching Something Important ๐จ
Family Coalition for Change is officially launching the FCFC Community School Concern Report โ a confidential space for families, students, educators, and staff to share what is really happening inside our schools.
We are hearing too many stories of:
โข Bullying and unsafe environments
โข Racism and discrimination
โข Retaliation against students and families
โข IEP/504 plans not being followed
โข Students being ignored, dismissed, or harmed
Our babies deserve better. And silence is not protection.
You can submit your experience anonymously.
No names will be shared publicly without permission.
FCFC will review submissions, look for documentation and patterns, and when concerns can be verified, we will bring them to lightโwhile protecting those who came forward.
This is about truth.
This is about accountability.
This is about protecting our children.
๐ Submit your report here: https://forms.gle/DBaGt6DAhjsWiMyK8
Jackson, itโs time we stop suffering in silence and start standing together.

Family Coalition for Change is creating a community reporting space for families, students, educators, staff, and community members to share concerns about what is happening inside schools in Jackson and surrounding communities. ๐ FCFC December Food Drive โ Community Care in Action ๐
Last month, Family Coalition for Change (FCFC) was honored to assemble and deliver 50 Hold You Down Community Care Bags to students at Middle School At Parkside, helping ensure access to food over winter break when school meals are unavailable.
Each bag included shelf-stable food items, and we were intentional about making the bags supportive beyond food alone, including items to support studentsโ emotional well-being during a time that can be especially challenging.
We are deeply grateful to the TRUE Community employees who chose FCFC through the High Five Thanksgiving Drive and trusted us to steward those funds with care. Additional community support also helped make this effort possible. ๐
This is what community looks like, showing up for our students and families, together.

โจ Community Harvest Update โ FCFC at Work โจ
This season, Family Coalition For Change set a goal to provide full holiday meals to 10 families in our community.
Because of the incredible support and generosity from our members and supporters, we are proud to share that we surpassed that goal and provided meals to 15 families.
At FCFC, our work is rooted in community care, mutual aid, and showing up for one another in real, tangible ways. Whether itโs food support, education justice, family advocacy, or simply making sure our neighbors feel seen and supported, this is the heart of what we do.
Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, spread the word, or offered encouragement.
Together, we continue to make a difference right here at home. ๐

๐พ COMMUNITY RESOURCE SHARE: Helping Families Eat Through the Holidays ๐พ
With SNAP benefits being cut this November, we know many families are struggling to stretch food dollars. โค๏ธ
Here are two ways our community can make sure no one goes hungry:
๐ Affordable Holiday Meals:
ALDI has a full Thanksgiving meal for 10 people for just $40, including turkey, rolls, veggies, pie, and more (see second image).
๐ฅซ Local Food Pantries in Jackson County:
The South Michigan Food Bankbresource guide lists dozens of local pantries, fresh food distributions, and soup kitchens available throughout the month (see first image).
๐ Please sharethis post or tag someone who could use these resources.
If youโd like to help, consider donating food, volunteering, or checking in on a neighbor. Every bit counts.
