Find the frozen treasure! Perfect activity for a warm, sunny day! Freeze some natural treasures you find in your yard, flowers, acorns, pinecones, leaves, etc. (or anything you’d like) add some color. Use a sq**rt bottle with warm water to discover your treasures! And play in the water ;)

Giant Orbeez! These are a personal favorite, I could play with them for hours! 😂 Our little explorers are enjoying scooping, dumping, transferring, squishing, and bouncing the balls! While playing with these orbeez, they are practicing hand-eye coordination, exercising their gross and fine motor skills, and exploring textures and colors!

What was set up to be a messy hand painting activity, quickly turned into a foot painting activity! Our little explorers started by touching the paint with their fingers, observing colors and textures on and between their fingers, and then got up and walked on it! They slid and slipped and giggled the whole time! There are many benefits of painting for children including sensory development, colour learning, fine motor development, and in this case gross motor development, exercising creativity, being able to express emotions and building self esteem.

Here at Homegrown Explorers, we value the importance of outdoor play! Playing outside gives your child the chance to explore the natural environment and have adventures. Your child can play games, test their physical limits, express themselves and build their self-confidence.
We are blessed with lots of trees that have given us large branches to build and imagine with! Our friend in these photos is building a teepee! She kept saying “I’m super strong to lift these!”
