The Cross Country season is officially underway, and our Running Rebels made quite an impression at their first meet of the season! Despite the challenging heat, our runners hit the course with pride, determination, and plenty of Rebel spirit.
Several runners earned Top 10 individual finishes and both of our JV teams finished 3rd overall. In the JV Boys 2-mile, Noah Taylor led the way and medaled with an impressive 2nd-place individual finish, followed by Brady Bassett in 7th. On the JV Girls side, Sawyer Watkins crossed the finish line in 8th, with Bryleigh Hurd close behind in 10th.
Our varsity runners continued the strong showing in the 5K, with Theresa Burdeshaw earning a 9th-place finish for the Varsity Girls and Bert Oggs securing an outstanding 6th-place finish for the Varsity Boys.
But beyond the places and times, we are proud of every single runner who stepped to the starting line, pushed through the heat, and finished the race. That kind of perseverance is what being a Running Rebel is all about!
Congratulations to our Cross Country teams on a strong first meet! Keep putting in the work, keep pushing forward, and keep making us proud! ❤️🖤
