Congratulations to our 4-H members, Re*****on Rodgers, Forrest Shatswell, Harleigh McKee, and Jacob Marley that participated in the NE Junior Shooting Sports Championship Competition this past Saturday in West Point, MS at the Jimmy Bryan 4-H Youth Complex! The all competed in the Archery Discipline and shout out to Jacob Marley for placing 3rd in his division! Tishomingo County Extension Office

We will have Slingshot Discipline Practice this Saturday, August 29 at 9:00 a.m. at the Holcut Memorial Park. Please let us know if you will be attending!

The North Half Slingshot State Championship will be Saturday, September 12 in West Point, MS at the Jimmy Bryan 4-H Youth Complex. If you plan to participate please let us know by Monday, August 31.

Tishomingo County 4-H members ages 5-18 as of January 1 of this year are eligible to participate. 4-H enrollment is free and can be completed at the Extension Office or via email. There is no cost to receive a cooking kit.

Good luck to Noah Sheffield as he competes in the 4-H/FFA Replacement Beef Heifer Development Contest tomorrow in Raymond, MS! There are many aspects to this contest that requires a tremendous amount of hard work, responsibility, and dedication! Youth must commit to the daily care, nutrition, health, and management of their beef heifers while learning to make informed decisions that impact the animal’s growth and performance. By participating in this contest it prepares youth for real-world agricultural challenges and helps build the confidence, work ethic, and leadership needed for success both on the farm and in everyday life.

We had a fun Cloverbud meeting yesterday learning about pedestrian and bicycle safety then experimenting with straw art. Special thanks to Gail Senn for leading the activity and providing supplies!
