Come see Professors Townsend and Urrutia NOW at the MVSU Student Organization and Club Fair until 7 pm. We are looking for people interested in art to join the MVSU Visual Arts Club. Membership is for anyone interested in the arts. We have an Annual Holiday Show and Sale that happens in the fall and membership allows you to participate! We'd love to have you!

Stephanie J. Howard is a recent MVSU graduate. She made some great work in the Creative Photography class. In her series titled, "CAELUM". She wrote about the images saying, "The sky is a daily canvas expressing attributes of light, texture, and color. One can easily get caught up in the peacefulness, ethereal beauty, or drama it emits. Cloud names are derived from Latin. According to Google, the Latin meaning for Caelum is heaven, sky, weather, climate, atmosphere Caelum is also the name for a constellation located in the southern hemisphere.

Since my childhood, clouds have piqued my interest. They can encourage, inspire, and evoke several emotions. The different forms intrigue my mind and cause me to ponder their majestic displays of beauty. I often wonder what lies beyond the troposphere and how the inanimate forms transfigure so effortlessly throughout the day. In this body of work, you will see how I was able to bring heaven to earth by capturing cloud-like structures on the ground."
