CPAS is the official student-led body representing the public policy student community at the Brooks School of Public Policy.

We advocate for student interests, foster connection, and promote leadership in public service. The Cornell Public Affairs Society (CPAS) is a student-led organization at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs (CIPA). CPAS is responsible for bridging the gap between students and administration at CIPA, as well as organizing educational and social events that are inclusive of all students in the program.

We had an incredible session with Nan Rohrer, whose work in Baltimore and Ithaca offered a grounded, thoughtful look at what it takes to build vibrant downtowns and support small businesses.

Students walked away with practical insights on community partnerships, collaborative leadership, and the day-to-day work behind revitalizing local economies. Her openness and real-world examples made the conversation especially helpful for those exploring internships or careers in economic development and urban policy.

Grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make this conversation such a meaningful one for our campus and communityโœจ
